Sister Bethany Nelson: New Blog for Sister Nelson!

After seeing blogs for other missionaries, I checked with Bethany to see if it was ok to start a blog about what she's up to on her mission. She said it was ok -- so here goes!

So latest is:
Bethany is serving in the California San Diego Mission, Spanish Speaking, currently in the Chula Vista 4th Ward. Her companion is Sister Gines, and Sister Nelson is the new senior companion. They are in a bike area, which Bethany loves. Tuesdays are her email days, and when we'll be posting news and pictures.

yes, i would love a blog. that would be really really cool. me and sister gines strongely approve.

but i must tell you that God is helping us so much!! we have been being more obiedent lately and working so hard to improve and Something finally clicked with us!! finally something is different about our teaching and the people that we are finding are so prepared. but our work is just taking off!! we had 3 investigators come to church this week and one person with a baptismal date and three people praying about a date. everyone is progresssing fast and its all coming together so well!! things are moving and i like it so much. its amazing what changing those little things does. its so true that small, simple things bring great things to pass.

i must say that these last few weeks have been incredible! we have someone getting baptized on halloween, who is so prepared. we met her and she's willing to do everything that we ask her too... she has such a hard life but its funnny that this hard life is exactly what prepared her to accept the gospel when she found it. she reads everyday and comes to church and you know how you're alwasy told that there are specific people that you are meant for on your mission. this is her. the moment i met her, i new we were meant for each other. the spirit just speaks so clearly to her. i'll get a picture and send it too you!!

but also, we have been learning so much more about how to teach... BY THE SPIRIT!! which makes so much sense, but i found that i had to go into every lesson asking God to help me with the right words. we can prepare ourselves as much as we can and then God and the SPirit puts everyting together. but its amazing how much jsut listening and asking more questins makes a difference. teahcing is so much more fun too! i just love this work. :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

i hope you like all the pcitures that i send you. i thought you'd like my reddish hair but tonight we're going to dye it a cool brown. i'm excited!! also, i cut my roommate, sister DUnn's hair and its so cool! who knew i could cut hair??
